Why did Peter decide to get out the boat? Why did he all of all of a sudden think he could walk on water? First of all, Peter believed Jesus was who He claimed to be. On that moment He fixed his eyes on Jesus, not on himself. Think for a moment to what Peter said “Yes” I will do it. I will walk on the water? Have you ever seeing someone waling on the water? But, He believed in Jesus. Could it be that we want to follow Jesus but, when we really see what we are doing, when we see the strong wind and the waves, we begging to sink? We begging to shake and to step back? Jesus asked, “Peter, you want to get out the boat?” and Peter reply, “Yes, I do.” Peter stepped out the boat, and he walked on the water. If we keep our eyes on Jesus, if we do not pay attention to what it is around, we will not sank. We will have strong wind and waves in our walk, but we have “Jesus”. The moment you say “Yes”, it is a new way of doing things and faith it is your way of “walking”. Jesus said, “Yes, come,” Come means, walk, one direction. If you think about it, “Peter walked on the water” God’s way it is not something that we usually see. It is not what we do; it is how we do it. That’s why it can not be our way; it is a cleaning process, a changing process, a purifying process in us. We need to pray to God to be a good seed. To produce the fruit of the Spirit, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” (Galatians 5:22).
God’s use what we think it has no use at all, He can use what no one will want to use. “He can give you a big surprise” He just says “come” “come and see” “trust in me and see” “walk with me and see” “I am here” “I am with you” “When Peter saw the strong wing and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?” (Matthew 14:30).
LORD, cleanse my heart and make it the home of Your Spirit. Almighty God, how glorious you are. Father, You are everywhere loving and caring for the minutest details of our lives! Thank you for your unconditional love LORD.
