Mother Teresa said; “Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.”
“To begin” is always our challenge. We are not supposed to settle were we are. We are called to keep moving forward in our Christian life. We can never live this life on the highest plane unless we are continually growing and moving forward. You should be closer to God today in heart, soul, and body, than at any other time so far in your life. The Apostle Paul on his letter to Titus told him, “Promote the kind of living that reflects wholesome teaching” (Titus 2:1). We are not supposed to get use to something we are supposed to be transformed. Jesus said in John, “If you love me you will obey my command”. “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work”. (2 Timothy 3:16-17). “Through the power of the Holy Spirit who lives within us, carefully guard the precious truth that has been entrusted to you” (2 Timothy 1:14). Paul tells us that faith come by hearing, and hearing the word of God. Listening is the first step toward hearing. God had never stop speaking to us, is us that stop listening to Him. He speaks to us so that we are guided, refreshed, restored, and renewed regularly. Not everybody that talks about God had listened to Him. We are supposed to live in peace; Jesus came to give us peace that surpassed all understanding. Not only we should look for what is good, but be a genuine witness of the love of God. We can not talk if we have not listened. We can not give hope if we have not listened. Impatience is enemy of holiness. Patience is necessary to hear God, and to be able to receive his commandments. “God doesn’t require us to succeed, he only requires that you try”. “We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence… We need silence to be able to touch souls”. (Mother Teresa).
