I love Paul’s honest desire, “I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead.” Is that our desire today? If you’ve never prayed that before, I encourage you to make that a daily request before God. And when you do, get ready fro your life to change!
Sometimes we take hold of few promises and become really strong about certain things but, in other area, we are passive. For example, you may be a hard worker. You get to work on time everyday. You give it your best. But maybe you tend to be negative and critical. We must work harder on that area. Remember, the same mighty power that raised Christ from the grave is available to you right now, today, because of His Holy Spirit. It’s that same power that helps us accomplish all things through Christ. Jesus paid the ultimate price for us. Don’t let His payment be vain. Remember Paul’s expression, “I press on,” each time you consider giving up. Until the day you leave this earth “I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to posses that perfection for which Christ Jesus first posses me.” (Philippians 3:12). Then, He said, “No, dear brother and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach to the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, though Christ Jesus, is calling us.” (Philippians 3:13-14).
“Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you. But we must [hold on to the progress we have already made]” (Philippians 3:15-16)
