After Jesus left the girl’s home, two blind men followed along behind him, shouting, “Son of David, have mercy on us!”

They went right into the house where he was staying, and Jesus asked them, “Do you believe I can make you see?”

“Yes, Lord,” they told him, “we do.”

Then he touched their eyes and said, “Because of your faith, it will happen.” Then their eyes were opened, and they could see! Jesus sternly warned them, “Don’t tell anyone about this.” Matthew 9:27-30

“Believe and Faith?” A lot of times we think that when we have a need, If God wanted to, He could just automatically meet it. But Jesus didn’t say, “Because of your need, it will happen”, He said, “Because of your faith.” and He also asked, “Do you believe”. Faith is about trusting God when you have unanswered questions. So it’s just one of those things that you can’t explain but we can come back to the bigger picture of who God is, what I believe anyway: that God is good and He is for us. “God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?” (Numbers 23:19) Taking actions it is crucial in our walk, Jesus asked them, “Do you believe I can make you see? And they respond “Yes, Lord,” they told him, “we do.” The Scripture tells us in Romans that “faith comes by hearing the Word of God.” The more you have the Word of God in your life, the more your faith will grow, and the more you will see Him working in your behalf. How do you know when you have God’s Word in your life? Because you will find yourself thinking His thoughts and saying His words regardless of your circumstances. A famous painter in an interview was asked, How do you paint Jesus so well if you have never seeing Him? And his answer was, “if I wouldn’t know Him better I wouldn’t paint Him better”. Napoleon was right when he said, “I know men, and I tell you, Jesus is more than a man. Comparison is impossible between Him and any other human being who ever lived, because He was the Son of God.” Emerson was right when he replied to those who asked him why he did not include Jesus among his Representative Men, “Jesus was not just a man.”

Jesus asked

“What do you want?” John 1:38

“Come and see,” John 1:39

“Come, follow me.” John 1:43
